Jayvee’s love for the food industry began as early as high school when he worked as an on-call waiter for a hotel in Cebu. Even with an entry-level position, this never hindered his determination to do his job well. This immediately caught the attention of the Management Team from Outback Steakhouse while they were all in Cebu. It was at this time that he was offered a job in Manila but was humble enough to know he wasn’t ready for such a change as of yet, turning it down politely.
After building his experience for one year, Jayvee decided to take on the offer given to him. It was at this time he was able to secure an interview with Outback Steakhouse in Manila. With an unwavering positive outlook he decided to pawn his phone to cover his 2-day boat journey to Manila.
In the year that had passed, Jayvee grew more experienced in his craft and because of that was able to secure the job with Outback Steakhouse as a Server. Eventually, he was gladly promoted to Trainer and after only 2 years was specifically selected to go to Singapore where he got his second promotion. This time he was given the position of Assistant Restaurant Manager in Bangkok, Thailand.
“Dream big, play hard, and pray harder,” says Jayvee Jan Mah, to those who always ask him how he got to where he is today. Such is the true story of a man filled with determination and who will always serve as an inspiration to those like him.
